Mr. Malcolm is proud to continue a century long family tradition of excellence in the practice of law, following upon three generations of lawyers which began with his Grandmother, Jean Cairns. A keen mind and fearless trailblazer, Jean Cairns was the fifth female lawyer to practice in Ontario.
Mr. Malcolm's family has held an unbroken chain of the practice of law in Hamilton since 1913, when Jean Cairns became the first woman member of the Hamilton Law Association. In 1959, Alma Malcolm followed her mother's footsteps and in 1967, she became the principal of the Morris & Morris Law firm.
Alexander Malcolm's father, William Malcolm, commenced practicing law in 1956, and has carried on a wills and estates practice in the Hamilton area for over 55 years.
